“You’re too old for that.” – How often do we hear that sentence? Or worse: how often do we say it to ourselves?
I’m 53 – and I signed up for a triathlon for the very first time.
It was scorching hot, 33 degrees Celsius in the shade. Not an easy day for a competition.
Luckily, I was assigned the swimming part.
The race itself was tough – literally a cramp. But what stays with me is not just the heat and the effort. It’s the feeling of having dared to try something new. The weeks and months before – training, anticipation, nervousness. And in the end: the pride of crossing the finish line.
My takeaway: It’s never too late to start something new.
On the contrary: with more life experience, you can face challenges like this with a deeper perspective.
You don’t have to be the fastest. But you can be the one who dares.
