On April 21, 2025, I received my 200-hour yoga teacher certificate – the celebratory conclusion of an intense, transformative, and deeply moving journey. In just 13 days, I was able to fully immerse myself in the world of yoga and experience myself in a whole new way.
The training was compact, demanding, and held in English – which added an extra challenge, especially when it came to teaching and learning complex topics like anatomy, yoga philosophy, and Ayurveda. Each day started early – usually between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m. – and was filled with practice, theory, and self-study until late at night.
In addition to our daily yoga practice, we learned how to structure, guide, and adapt a yoga class to different needs. I first prepared a 30-minute class, then a full 60-minute session, which I had the opportunity to teach in front of the group – an exciting and empowering experience.
There were also written exams in anatomy, yoga philosophy (including Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras), Ayurveda, and a comprehensive final test. It was a lot – physically, mentally, and emotionally. But it was this very intensity that allowed for a deep dive into the yogic path.
For me, this journey was truly a hero’s journey. I moved through inner and outer challenges, grew beyond my limits, and experienced what’s possible when you approach a process with dedication, courage, and presence.
I’m incredibly grateful for this experience, the wonderful teachers and fellow travelers, and I’m looking forward to integrating everything I’ve learned into my coaching work and future yoga offerings.
